13 July 2012: APPLY NOW FOR TREE PLANTING GRANTS

HEYwoods Partnership, East Yorkshire's woodland initiative, are now accepting applications for a £15,000 grant, the funding for which is being made available by EYRC using funds provided by RES as par tof our S106 Agreement, for new tree, woodland and hedgerow planting near Roos Wind Farm.

HEYwoods manager Stephen Robinson said: "The grant project offers an ideal opportunity for significant levels of environmental enhancement work in south Holderness. We hope that individuals, landowners and local groups from around this area will take advantage of the opportunity to submit grant applications for new tree, woodland and hedgerow planting work in their local area".

Proposals are being accepted from landowners and organisations for projects within about 5km of the Roos Wind Farm site.

All proposals must be submitted by Friday, August 31. For more information about the application process and guidance on the types of projects that could be supported, call 01482 393726.

HEYwoods have already had plenty of expressions of interest in the fund, both from private landowners and Parish Councils in the area.  A grant panel will be convened in September to consider grant applications received and successful projects should begin during November-March 2012/13.
