16 May 2012: PAVING THE WAY TO GREENER ENERGY

Track laying at Roos Wind Farm completed this week - literally paving the way for work on the turbine foundations to begin.  Other works on site are also progressing well: drainage works are ongoing, the substation is being built and excavation for the foundations at the first three turbine locations is well underway.

Gary Scrowther, RES Construction Site Manager, commented: "We're very pleased with the progress to date. Completion of the tracks means we are now over the peak period for materials deliveries to the site, although we will continue to take regular deliveries of concrete and stone over the coming weeks for construction of the turbine foundations."

In agreement with East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Highways team, RES will make repairs to a stretch of Winestead Lane where the road surface has deteriorated over time.

If progress on site continues to the current schedule, Roos Wind Farm could be generating clean, green electricity by summer 2013.
