2 November 2012: FIRST TURBINE COMPONENTS ARRIVE AT ROOS WIND FARM

Roos Wind Farm took delivery of its first turbine components on 26 October. Components will continue to arrive at the site over the next few weeks, to a schedule that will minimise disruption to other road users.

Alison Jones, RES Community Relations Manager, commented: "The first delivery is always a very exciting time and we are delighted that the components arrived safely on site exactly as planned. The tower bases will be installed at each turbine location prior to us beginning the erection of the turbines in earnest. We expect the first turbine to be completed in mid November."

Weather permitting, RES anticipates that all nine turbines at Roos Wind Farm will be erected by mid December. A period of testing and commissioning will then follow before the wind farm can begin generating clean, green renewable energy for up to 14,000 homes in 2013.
